Welcome to Herma Farms & Stud Inc.

hankful for having discovered horse-racing through a friend, I was so taken up with it that it eventually almost replaced all my other sports activities.

While racing stirred one to peak adrenaline, there was something more that made me want to get to the core of an equine relationship.

Was it to own a horse? With my first stake winner, “Tumatagingting”,the pleasure of owning a winning horse in the 2000 Philippines’ Sweepstakes Race certainly added to the thrill. The coming of more winners and record-breakers, “WindBlown" and “Real Spicy” and many more, was next to sharing a kingly glory.

But I felt there was more to it than this. I wanted to go through the full cycle of making a Champion, thus my serious bid to breed. And to breed well.

Breeding has put me in touch with each of the horses and the lives they lead. I believe that while pedigree is important, it is more than this. Beyond the bales of hay and the stables’ safety bars, it is the care that the resident vets, the stable boys and the trainers give, that brings out the best in each of the horses. It is after all, the human imprint that makes a horse take it upon itself to perform at its best. I am proud to say that at Herma Farms, it is the bonding flow of energy that spells the difference.

One of my greatest joys as a horse breeder is to follow each horse as it moves forward to its own individual destination, much like persons. I follow each horse in its life journey, and the relationship becomes so real. Parting time is always difficult.

Days come and go and with each new day, blessings. The white fences, the green grass, and Mount Malarayat provide a perfect backdrop to the horse standing proud with their coats glistening in the sun, touching your very soul.
